George Charnota received his Juris Doctor in 2001 from Tulane Law School. He received his Bachelor of Arts in philosophy, cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1998.

In 2001, he became an attorney in Florida. From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Charnota served as an Assistant State Attorney for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit, Miami-Dade County, Florida where he was an 'A' level prosecutor.

While a prosecutor, Mr. Charnota tried and litigated hundreds of criminal cases including DUI misdemeanor, and felony level crimes. Additionally, he assisted in the training of county court prosecutors, lecturing on trial preparation and closing arguments.

In 2004, Mr. Charnota entered private practice. As a private practitioner, Mr. Charnota defended numerous misdemeanor, felony, and DUI criminal cases.

In 2005, Mr. Charnota joined Essen, Essen, Charnota & Cohen, P.A. where he is primarily responsible for the defense of DUI cases in both Dade and Monroe counties.
